Use a debug stick and take the piston part off of a sticky piston. Put a normal piston with a block in front of it and then put the piston with no head on. Then put red stone onto it and the the block disappears.

However, this issue won't be fixed.
Any issues regarding block states being created or changed by using the Debug Stick are not accepted on the bug tracker according to this reddit post from Mojang.
