With the new 21w11a snapshot a major bug. a few versions before 21w11a (specifically 21w08b) will not load no matter what I do. Usually if I try launching the game and it doesnt work it tells me that either my game crashed or my internet isnt working. This time is very different, snapshot 21w08b will not make any attempt to load at all. I have been continuesly pressing "play" but it never did anything, no loading bar, no error screen, nothing. The button just doesnt work

Having the same problem here. I have tried all snapshots of the new version and every one of them are unable to load except the last one. During the creation of the new installation I get prompted with a message saying "Unable to get details" and when the game is started nothing happen except a message saying "Sorry, unable to start Minecraft".
Everything was working fine 3 hours ago.
The launcher retrieves the JSON file but javaVersion.majorVersion is null which causes the launcher to error and not allow the snapshots to launch.

Can confirm also for Snapshot 21w05b. I am having the same problem. Pressing the "Play" button no longer works in the launcher.
Since loading of old worlds is temporarily disabled, my server is currently on Snapshot 21w05b. So I cannot upgrade the server to 21w11a, and I cannot start my client on 21w05b.
This appears to be related to issue MC-219918 and MCL-17343
