Lava fog sometimes disappears after death

Sometimes after death, lava fog will not be visible. This can possible be used at the top of lava, but I'm not sure. This only sometimes happens, and the video attached may not be the best example, but I wasn't recording when I got the better example.

I haven't tested this for 1.16.5.
