every single time I try to join a server my minecraft crashes..please fix this bug in the next update

Were you in fullscreen mode? If so, enter the game with fullscreen mode OFF, then after about 10 seconds (if you don't crash), hit F11. This should fix the problem. Do not join single/multiplayer worlds in fullscreen, it's a bug that needs to be fixed. If you're crashing with fullscreen mode OFF, then I don't know what it is.
