Ender dragon island is very high, pillars generate in the middle of the island

The end island generates over a very large height, in my case the lowest point has an x value of 11 and the highest point has an x value of 194, so almost 200 blocks high. additionally, the end pillars and the end crystals generate right in the middle of the island, making it very hard to find it if playing in survival mode.
