Crash on launch - exit code 6

Hi there,

When I try to launch minecraft java edition, i get exit code 6 and an immediate crash. My error log is attached. I have tried re-installing minecraft as well as deleting my .minecraft folder, which have not helped.

I have also tried specifying that minecraft use the system java (/usr/bin/java) instead of the inbuilt one, which produces an immediate crash with error code 1.

Interestingly, older minecraft versions such as 1.13 seem to run just fine, but anything 1.14 or newer gives this crash.

E: I would also like to add that using a local (non-root) install of java 8 also did not work.
