A friend has been having the issue that their server list keeps continuously deleting all contents. I know this is an old issue and looked into it - many suggested checking that the server.dat file hadn't become server.dat_temp or similar to that. Upon investigating I found that my friend does not have a server.dat file at all. While they do have server.dat.old - they instead have a file called "Servers" of type Kodi... is this likely to be what is causing the issue? Any ideas?
Friend is on 1.16.5 at the time but this issue most likely persists to other versions.
Kodi probably also supports the data format
.dat, and as such your OS shows theservers.datfile as being openable by Kodi, while it's actually not a Kodi.datfile but a Minecraft NBT.datfile.Enable "Show file extensions" in your file explorer to see the exact extensions of your files in your system.
