You need a carved pumpkin, not a regular pumpkin.

This is an ongoing issue with carved and jack o lanterns. It does not matter from which angle I place it, if it is carved. I know that the carved pumpkin is needed but using it has not resolved the issue.

This is why I commented the duplicate, MC-60792. My astute observation that there are snow layers under the arms NOT the air blocks necessary.
