Steps to reproduce:
Enable 'View Bobbing'
Do one of the following:
Jump on the ground
Fly up or down in creative mode
Observed results:
The player's view will be completely still while falling or moving upwards.
Expected results:
The player's view should slightly tilt towards the vertical direction the player is moving in.
Notes:
In versions, where this bug doesn't occur, the view also slightly tilts up when the player is in creative mode and is trying to fly upwards but a block is blocking them
This bug was introduced in 1.14 Pre-release 2
This report specifically focuses on the camera movement and not the hand movement

@unknown I was interested in updating this issue's title and description, would it be alright with you if I requested ownership of this issue? Otherwise; I can leave a comment with my suggested updates. Thank you 🙂

hi @Jiingy, i would like to keep the ownership of this issue... you can leave a comment with suggested updates and i'll try to rewrite the description from scratch
Changing the title to be more searchable would help, as I myself had a hard time finding this issue. Something like this:
The player's view no longer tilts when moving vertically with View Bobbing enabled
As for the description, I had originally written this before I knew this issue had already been reported before. Use it and/or alter it as you like:
If the player is moving vertically in the air and has the 'View Bobbing' option enabled, their view will not tilt.
h3. Steps to Reproduce:
# Enabled 'View Bobbing'
# Do one of the following:
** Jump on the ground
** Fly in creative, move up and down
h3. Observed Results:
The player's view will be completely still while either falling, jumping, or flying in creative moving vertically.
h3. Expected Results:
The player's view would move slightly up or down considering they are in motion.
h3. Screenshots/Videos:
https://youtu.be/923QHrZNfGk
h3. Notes:
# This is not referring to MC-162137 (resolved as WAI), but instead specifically focusses on the motion of the camera itself.
# This likely was caused by fixing the player's hand movement while falling (back in 1.13)
# The player's view remaining completely still appears out of place considering taking damage
and running/walking both shift the player's view.

Can confirm in 1.20.3 Pre-Release 2

I have the code to fix this

@lowercasebtw well i do too... i even made a fabric mod to add this back (with some improvements)

yo do you have a github? cause I have the code that was removed, but when I added it back, it works but feels off somewhat
Smajlo Slovakian

ok I boiled my code down and I think I know why its so weird now, I just gotta figure out how to implement this new thing I found

afaik this isn't the right place for this kind of discussion... yes the mod is on github and it's also published and easily searchable

where else do we chat?
and yea I saw your mod, it is not the same code that I have (extracted from a 1.14 snapshot before the pre-releases)

I really hope Mojang fixes this! It makes moving feel incredibily akward and less dynamic and emirsive

If Mojang for some reason intends this as a feature (would assume something so noticeable would have been rectified by now), i’d like to suggest an addition. They should add an additional option within view bobbing which re-adds the better simulated falling from the old view bobbing.

Still a problem in 1.21.5 and 1.21.6 snapshots. Would love to see this get a resolution
Can confirm.
