Silent Creepers

While I was "caving" I decided to turn around and there was a creeper next to me already about to explode. I didn't hear the fuse start neither was he able to attack me from falling, because the cave was small and there were no places above me for them to spawn. When he exploded, I heard that perfectly so I knew there wasn't anything wrong with my volume.
