Wolf sitting and walking after frame-perfect sit command ?

A tamed wolf seems to have a odd behavior where it will still move even while it was told to sit, and only continue to move until it has finished its current goal, then will actually sit.

For this specific situation, I accidentally told it to sit at the same time as tilling the dirt. The wolf sat down, but continued to walk its initial path until it finish, but afterwards is now actually sitting (i.e not following me, not moving, sitting.)

just a silly bug.

I am not sure if it matters, but when it happened I was also holding a torch. I do not think it has anything to do with it, but just in case.
