Ok, I know this technically isn't a bug, but it makes sense to have other metal type stairs and slabs. There however don't need to be diamond stairs and slabs, only metal type blocks. And they don't have to be the swaggiest stairs ever : )

Perhaps because copper is not a "material" material, like how iron and gold have crucial crafting uses in armor and tools. I don't know too much about the new update, but copper seems to be a more "decorative" block, like how the stone variants were introduced
