Minecraft is instructing my computer to enter sleep mode

if Minecraft is set to fullscreen mode it will instruct my computer to shut down and enter sleep mode when the game launches, this can be bypassed by setting the game to windowed mode through my graphics card interface with its fully up to date drivers and then switching to fullscreen mode after the game launches, no issues after that. 

I want to be perfectly clear, the computer does not "crash" there is no blue screen of death and there is of course no error from Minecraft. My computer shuts off and then I have to turn it back on again. 

to be clear everything else on my computer works fine, better that fine honestly.
