Axolotol does not continue to breed after being picked up with a bucket

I was feeding my axolotl a bucket of tropical fish to breed, and I picked him up with a bucket on accident, when I placed him down again he didn't breed with the other Axolotl

To reproduce

1. Summon two axolotls

2. Feed both a tropical fish

3. Scoop one of them up in a bucket

4. Let it out of the bucket again
   → ❌ The axolotl from the bucket is no longer in breeding mode
