This affects the launcher, not the game itself.
When I started the Minecraft launcher this morning, it automatically updated itself. (Not cool! I want to choose whether and when to update.) Since then the launcher exits with the following error:
MessageBox(Minecraft Launcher): Couldn't load launcher core from /home/shaggy/.minecraft/launcher/liblauncher.so: LoadErrorNotPresent
Launcher_log.txt seems to indicate that /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc+.so.6 does not exist, but it does. It is a link to libstdc+.so.6.0.22.
A system update made no difference.
I've attatched .minecraft/launcher_log.txt.

Also experiencing this issue on Linux with two different systems working fine yesterday. Newly introduced dependency on CXXABI_1.3.11. Spent last several hours trying to remedy with no success including a full system reinstall as so many things had been changed by that point.
