When typing a command, I can only type the first letter, otherwise the action is abandoned.
For example, if I want to type /gamemode, I have to type /g <tab> to complete the command. If you type /ga the command is abandoned on typing the 'a'. Similarly, the argument 'creative' you can only type 'c <tab>' if you continue typing c-r, the command is abandoned.

We're tracking this issue in MC-127862, so this ticket is being resolved and linked as a duplicate.
Notes from that ticket:
— 1) Another problem is that Ctrl + A selects the whole text, but the game then still writes the letter too. So because of that, whenever you press the letter "A", everything you wrote will be replaced by "a".
— 2) There is a way to stop this bug : Press the LEFT "Ctrl" key (the right one does nothing. At least for me).
