Losing items when dying in the end

When I die and wait too long to come back (stronghold is far away from home) my items despawn... It is almost like the end chunks are constantly being loaded... This also happened in a 1.16 world, I was on a minehut server both times... Apparently this is a long running issue, not just a 1.17 issue... Please fix, thanks 🙂
