Bees Duplicating

I have two bee hives placed on the ground, surrounded by stone (about 10x10x3) with about 8 flowers in the room. I play in other areas of my world, near enough to where I still load the bees every once in a while. Sometimes when I come back to them there will be 20 to 40 bees there. I did not breed them, but it is causing lag.
