Particle color of the Totem of Undying

I have been trying to make a resource pack that also changes the particle color of the totem of undying. The OptiFine/color.properties file is unable to change the color of the totem particles. I have gone through many reddit posts and planet Minecraft threads, I have created my own planet minecraft thread and have gotten no response that would work. I went to Mojang support and the code I was using should have worked, and because it didn't I was told that it is a bug and should be reported. The code I was using is: particle.totem_of_undying=ff7f50. If this could be fixed so I could create a resource pack for my 1.16.5 server that would be great although if it is only fixed in a 1.17 version that would still be fine... I just can't update my modded server when the mods are only 1.16. If it could also be made that you can make the particles to where it can have 2 colors so my totem particles would be colored coral and dark blue: #ff7f50 and #00008b. I have been trying to make this resource pack for a story arc on my create mod SMPearth server. Thank you for your time and please fix this...

and yes I have tried it with the portal particles and it worked just fine so I have done it correctly and I have gotten confirmation from Belle at Mojang support that it should have worked and therefore is a bug.
