Bees disappeared from enclosed farm

I have a fairly standard honey/honeycomb farm which has worked in both 1.16.5 and 1.17 up until recently. However, all 24 bees in the enclosure disappeared.

The bee habitat is fully enclosed with glass, stone, hoppers, dirt, with all 8 beehives facing forward. There are several solid blocks above the bees. (See screenshot 1)

Confirmed absense of bees by listening for standard bee noises, waiting a full day, and confirming that hives are now empty by breaking a few and seeing that they stack. (See hotbar in screenshot 2)

Did you happen to be using optifine when experiencing this issue? Also, please could you provide some additional screenshots and/or videos of this issue occurring whilst the F3 debug screen is enabled.

I've just had a similar issue on my single player world.

Brand new world in 1.17 java, created a honey farm in the spawn chunks, my base is  just a couple of chunks away, just outside the spawn chunks.

The farm was active and working for  a couple of ingame weeks but I never went far from my base.

Then I went exploring for 4-6 ingame days and when I came back there weren't any bees at all in my hives, it's 8 hives with 3 bees each. They ahve to have disappear as soon as I left because the collection system was empty and I collected just before leaving.

I'm using optifine with fabric and can't provide any F3 screen while the issue is occurring because it happened when I was away. I since added bees back, I'll try to get more data if they disappear again.

Updated with an F3 debug screen at the same location (I have since replaced the bees and put sea lanterns/stone in place of the glass), and world seed + farm coords.

I am not using Optifine or any other mod (you might be noticing the glass texture, which is from a Vanilla Tweaks texture pack, the only non-default MC thing I am using)

Interestingly, my situation seems similar to Stephanie's - I believe this farm may also be within spawn chunks, and the farm seemed to be working normally, and I only noticed missing bees after a medium length journey away from spawn

This is also happening on bedrock. I can find a single bee anywhere unless i have experimental caves and cliffs turned on.

Still a problem on 1.17.1, can confirm. I had a farm with 18 bees and somehow I am left with only 2.. This is a problem. It worked great for 2 double chests of honeycomb.. but boy they're having problems once I switched it to honey mode...

So how ist look like? It's now September and the issue was created in the beginning of July. Please give us at least a plausible answer whether this is a real bug or the bees disappearing quickly because their actual life span is short as it is in reallife. Seriously how is the state of things? Is there any developer at mojang taking care of this problem? Thanks in advance for a response.

This also happened on my private vanilla 1.17.1 server. Three bees disappeared from a fully enclosed farm (so the bees couldn't get away in case they went through the glass) located in spawn chunks. In my farm I used a bee nest, not a beehive. I should add that three bees that were in a naturally generated bee nest in a birch tree (tree grown with bone meal) also disappeared, so I don't think the problem is limited only to the farms, although in this case there is a possibility that they flew away. In my case, too, I noticed the event after being away from the base for a fairly long period of time, just as it happened to Stephanie and Tyler.

Its so frustrating because i was really really REALLY excited for candles. But….you kind of need wax for that lol. My bees all despawned too T_T

It's happening to me in a server in 1.18 all the time. I have to spawn with an egg all 3 bees per hive always after a while. There is no campfire near for them to die. Its an enclosed farm
