in the ravines with water in the new 1.17 the game makes glowing squids and they fall and die, drops your item and the zombies pass and catch them, making them not disappear causing lag.

in my case this 30FPS by my tests that the game took doesn't make any difference because I run the game with an average of 200FPS at 18/24 chuncks, however, for minecraft fans with a weak pc it can end up getting discouraged by having mobs that don't disappear and causing lag without them noticing.

EXTRA: I found 23 mobs that didn't disappear removing my extra 30FPS (my pc: GTX 750-TI, I3 4170, 12GB RAM, DISPLAY 1366x768)
