Beacons reset when I leave their chunks and rejoin

I just defeated 6 withers then created a 6-beacon, then left to work on a building project (in chunks that did not have the beacons in it). I left, then returned and went back to my base (where the beacon is) and found that I wasn't getting the effects anymore. I tried moving around, then continued to look into the beacon's GUI, to find that all of them had reset and weren't powered or have any effects selected. I was confused, so powered them again, went into unloaded chunks, rejoined then returned to find the beacons were reset again. I doubt this is intentional, as it'd be really annoying to have to repower the beacons all the time, as it would be a waste of time and resources.

I've been testing it, and it seems that it is actually whenever I leave my game, that makes the problem a bit simpler!

I seem to have a similar issue, I have multiple beacons set up and sometimes when I start the game (solo survival) some of the beacons are de-powered and need to be charged again (I'm using iron).

I have this issue with just a single beacon. It was set to Haste 2 (mining improvement). I've changed it to Speed 2, but two times I've rejoined my single player world  still have the Speed 2 buff, but immediately get Haste 2 applied and Speed 2 times out. In the beacon UI it has reset to Haste 2.

Running latest Java edition on Windows 7.

Please provide some screenshots and/or videos of this issue occurring whilst the F3 debug screen is enabled.
