Cobbled deepslate 3rd click

Whenever I use my mouse wheel as a 3rd click to quickly grab the block from the inventory it doesn't appear in my hand

What I expected to happen was...:
cobbled deepslate should have appeared in my hand as a block to use

What actually happened was...:
I kept the item that waas previously in my hand and cobbled deepslate remained in my inventory

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have cobbled deepslate in your inventory
2. Look at a cobbled deepslate block
3. 3rd click the block with an empty hand or any item in your hand
