Place the redstone block first, then the piston two blocks below.
Then, for some reason, the extended of the piston becomes true, and the piston is in the activated state. Then, even if you destroy the redstone block, the piston will remain activated.
No commands or debug bars are used.

Duplicate of MC-108, which was later resolved as "Works As Intended".

it is what is known as quasi-connectivity.
duplicates MC-108

Will it be fixed in this update?

i think it will never be fixed because it's a feature that "works as intended" and it is a widely accepted redstone mechanic

Oh...OK Thank you!

@unknown Hello, as the others already pointed out, this is a bug that became a feature, called "Quasi-Connectivity" (QC).
To explain a bit more about it, as I see so many bugposts popping up that are QC:
Bedrock does not have QC, it is specific to Java Edition (JE).
Removing it from JE without equivalent replacements would result in a big protest of a part of the MC community.
Back when the Observer was added, the Mojang Developer who showed it received hate up to death threats of some people of the Redstone community, because everyone thought that the Observer was added to replace QC.
However, all of that being said, it's not guaranteed that QC will stay in JE forever.
But its removal would require a rewrite of the whole Redstone system in a way that even everyone who is used to QC would be willing give up on it.
The only Dev (maybe Devs, Plural) I know who could pull this off are extremely busy, hence I don't think a rewrite of the Redstone System will happen in a very near future; it's also an extremely controversial topic, which is why it would have to be done very carefully and very thought-through.
That being said, I also would not completely rule it out, that, one day, QC could vanish, or be replaced by a coded feature (something that is not a bug).
But don't wait for it, if it happens, it will take some time 😉

I see. Thank you Meri Diana.
