Every time I start minecraft, it requires me to connect online despite being far away from internet in order to start playing the game.
I bought this game as offline version long ago and precisely because it could be played stand alone without internet.
Why is this bug added that requires me to connect to internet to play minecraft single player offline whan I'm in the middle of arctic desert?

Yes, I am sure. It was one of the earliest versions, I believe I paid $10 or 10€ for it, before any of these online account systems that have been forced now, and I would not have bought it, if it hat required online access while playing, like this new version now does. I bought it specifically for offline use.
This new Microsoft license or version has made this game useless. I want the functionality that I originally had bought and the right to play it offline without internet.
The previous version allowed at least to play indefinitely offline after one login. This latest one requires online access every time I start the game, which is not kosher.
Also, first version of Minecraft I bought was the beta java version for Linux, though I believe I could have downloaded some other OS versions with the license as well. Anyway, the Linux license seems to have been one-sidedly changed by Microsoft/Mojang to require online user accounts every time the game starts and it is not being honored what was sold to old customers.
You used to need user the username+pwd combo only to download the game, and not for playing, unless playing online. I am filing a consumer complaint to appropriate government officials about this breach of contract. You can't retroactively change licenses like this.
How to reproduce:
$ minecraft-launcher
You are asked to log in.
Login fails if you're not online.
You can not play the game offline.
Hello,
Same on my side, I paid 2 licenses of the game (java edition) when it was possible to play offline (1 for me and 1 for my daughter) + 2 playstation 4 DVD version (also for me and for my daughter) + 1 Xbox360 version + 1 version Android.
I always played the game in offline mode and I always respected the conditions.
I don't understand why the conditions changed, it's so wierd.
I vote to add a offline feature in the "new" launcher at least for licenses which was buy long time ago as I did and as Jei did also.
Look, I already proved I am a good client, I deserve a offline mode in my Java versions.
Note : I tried to install the old launcher, it installs the game but refuses to run the program "Exit code 0".
Some clients don't live with internet -> I only have internet on the mobile phone, that doesn't mean I must be put in the impossibility to use what I paid for.
Hope this issue to be resolved.
Thank you in advance Mojang for your understanding.
You mentioned that you "bought this game as offline version". Are you using a full and legitimate copy of Minecraft: Java Edition, as I don't believe there are separate versions for offline and online gameplay.
