Upgraded my old world to 21w40a and it still has floor at 0, not -64

I created a couple backups of my world to check out the new update and I'm glad I did.

Not sure what happened to generation in my world but I noticed a couple things:

Screenshot #1 - I've seen lots of the regular youtubers showing the biome blending when upgrading previous versions and mine is definitely not blending.

Screenshot #2 - Floor is at 0, I just jumped into spectator mode and dropped down and you can see it just stops at 0.

I don't think I need to toggle anything if I'm running the 21w40a version but maybe I missed something?

Thanks

When you are still in the old areas, it will be like that in the old areas

https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-snapshot-21w39a

In this snapshot, you can also open worlds from previous versions again - with one big warning! The blending technology we intend to introduce for Caves & Cliffs: Part II is not yet available. If you open an old world in this snapshot it will be upgraded with air under the current bottom of the world and visible chunk borders to new areas.

@Dhranios,

thanks for the reply and I’ll keep that in mind.

I just thought it would blend based on recent YouTube reviews showing how the blending currently works.

i do have backups so no issues.

Mike the old and new world blending have only been added to Bedrock edition. It will be available to Java in future release and snapshots, we just need to wait 🙂

@Vincent_243, well that would explain the seeing it in other videos.

Thanks again

Mike
