Igloo basements can generate exposed to the air

The Bug:

Igloo basements can generate exposed to the air.

The generation of an igloo's basement can occasionally dip into some natural cave generation, causing it to be extremely obvious when it's instead supposed to be hidden from the player.

Here is an example:

Version: 1.19.3

Seed: -2055074493936140863
Coordinates: /execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s -19683.79 88.00 -862.70 -58.42 14.69

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Generate a world with the seed provided above and teleport to the given coordinates.

  2. Look closely at the igloo basement.

  3. Take note as to whether or not igloo basements can generate exposed to the air.

Observed Behavior:

Igloo basements can generate exposed to the air.

Expected Behavior:

Igloo basements would not be able to generate exposed to the air.

We do not have enough information to reproduce this issue.

Please provide the following information about the world you are playing in as text. Attaching a screenshot showing them is not enough.

  • World Type:

    • "Default" if you have not chosen one when creating the world.

    • For "Superflat": Additionally provide the generation preset.

    • For "Buffet": Additionally provide the generator type and biome you have selected.

  • Additional generation settings (in case you changed them): E.g. "Generate Structures", "Bonus Chest", ...

  • Seed: Can be obtained by using the /seed command and clicking on the message in chat

  • Coordinates: Can be copied to clipboard by pressing F3 + C

Still looking for examples of this one, but one minor one is where the stairwell intersects with a grassy cave atΒ /tp @s -10512 ~ -944 on seedΒ 1088126630841226858

edit: Another slight example:

This behavior is present in 1.17.1 as well and isn't exclusive to the 1.18 snapshots.

To emphasize this report, I want to inform that this has also happened to me in version 1.21.4

I don't have any images or coordinates to show, but basically I saw a large portion of the igloo basement in a cave due to its generation
