Splash potions that get thrown at a wall of honey blocks by a player (facing the exact same way and not moving) impact it at different points. Look at the video.
In hindsight, I really should've had F3 open, but I think it's pretty clear I wasn't moving the mouse.

This would definitely make sense, but I want confirmation on this, since if it's a bug and it gets fixed it might open up some opportunities for redstone machines that rely on consistency in the direction of projectiles thrown by a player.
I know bows, dispensers and droppers have this randomization, but I've never heard anything about player-thrown projectiles.
Upon throwing projectiles, they aren't guaranteed to consistently impact the same space. There is little variation of what direction they travel in each time you throw them. I believe this behavior is intentional, though I don't have a source to support this statement.
