I recently updated to the newest version of the Minecraft launcher and it would update most of the way then say that it could not update native Minecraft launcher so I re-installed it and now when I open the multiplayer server tab it says "cant connect to server." and when I try to join the server it says "java.lang.IllegalStateException: failed to create a child event loop" It affects all versions

Got the message for the latest launcher. Uninstalled old launcher and had to grab the new one from XBox Store as it wouldn't let me download from the Microsoft store without Game Pass.
Finally installed everything and got the child event error on my personal servers.
Reset firewall settings and tweaked every network setting. No joy.
Found old link to issue. MC-34749
No joy.
Also deleted .minecraft folder. No joy.
