So, let's begin. While playing minecraft in my world, I noticed a funny bug with a friend. If you put sugar cane on the sand or ground (unless of course there is a water source next to the block), then everything will be fine, but if you put sugar cane in water (you need to have no blocks in front), then it will magically be put into the water (on the pinned video will be shown visually). You can also put sugar cane in the very depths of a river, lake or sea. I tested it on other versions of minecraft and there is the same problem (I never noticed this). I hope this will be fixed in 1.17.2 or the new version 1.18. Good luck.
