[MC-24185] The server download link has changed

As of version 1.6.1 the URL for the minecraft_server.jar download has changed. This breaks auto server update scripts. It's OK to have URLs that point to specific versions, but please continue to have one URL that points to the current server version so we can continue to automate this chore. The old URL worked (https://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/launcher/minecraft_server.jar)

I don't mind so much if you create a new URL for this purpose but once created stick with it for the life of the game.

This bug tracker is for bugs within the game only.
Also, this site is for bug reports only. Feature and improvement suggestions are not currently being tracked here.

That is a BS response. Where do we file this bug (and it is a bug) if not here? The old link was stable since beta, please fix it or give us a new one. Thank you.

I'm sorry you are upset about the link change. I do not work for Mojang and I can't do anything about it, try contacting Dinnerbone or another Mojang employee via Twitter to get their reasoning.
