In my hardcore world, I was in my cave spider farm and I noticed that the cave spiders (when angered) below me by a block (in this case, regular cobblestone) and were still able to hit me and give me the poison effect
The video linked isn't the best since my computer isn't that good with recording so ignore the audio and video problems, but you can roughly see the spiders hitting me through the blocks due to my shield deflecting damage.
I'm not sure if this works with regular spiders, but due to cave spider's size, I highly doubt it does.

Tail, MC-2310 mainly talks about hitting through corners and through vertical walls with holes in them, I don't know if this could be considered a clone of that.

Jolan van Hoof, I don't play minecraft on the strongest of desktops. I'm playing on a laptop and it sometimes gets highest of 30fps on 1.17.1 with 8 chunk render distance. But you can roughly make out what's going on, I swear it ran smoother when I was recording it.

How has this got anything to do with MC-163637, that's about de-syncing block placement, and mine is to do with cave spiders being able to hit through walls. What do those 2 have in common?
