You take a screenshot using the "print key":
Expected Result:
You get whatever Minecraft shows pasted into your clipboard.
Actual Result:
You get pasted into your clipboard what minecraft was showing when you last switched to the app or went into fullscreen, which sometimes also just gives you back a completely black screen.

I know I'm reviving a very old post here, but this was explained very poorly by the original poster but is a real issue - what they mean is taking a screenshot using the built in windows screenshot functions, such as the keybind of windows key + print screen. Doing this does exactly what they were complaining about, and still does to this day - causing me to look up the issue and find this bug post. Would love for it to be fixed.
I was unable to reproduce. Rebinding my screenshot key to the print screen button worked just like F2 and gave me the correct output with no black images.
