For some reason on 1.18.2 there is a noticeable delay in joining worlds, the "loading terrain" screen causes this delay but this was not an issue on 1.18.1 or previous versions. You would never see this "loading terrain" on previous minecraft versions, this has appeared in 1.18.2 though. This is especially noticeable on multiplayer servers when you teleport from one world to another. I have no idea what 1.8.2 did to cause this regression but I've made a comparison video of joining a world on 1.18.1 and 1.18.2 where you can see the delay. Again, this delay is a lot more noticeable when playing on multiplayer servers and teleporting across different worlds but in my comparison video I'm using singleplayer.

Pretty sure this is not a bug. When comparing your videos you can see that in 1.18.1 the world isn't quite loaded yet when the loading screen disappears, that takes a few seconds more.
Plus, in total the loading screen is there for a longer amount of time in 1.18.1 than in 1.18.2.
The "loading terrain" screen is only shown in 1.18.2, my comparison time just differs because I'm not using identical worlds but the main comparison was to show the annoying "Loading terrain" delay which is only on 1.18.2. I recently found this issue: MC-249059 and it explains that for some reason the delay has been hardcoded in 1.18.2 to hide a different bug which is not really a good solution anyway.
i got here by searching how to solve this problem on google. Its already second account bugged like this in our multiplayer world. we can't do anything for them. they just have "loading terrain" forever till they got timeout'd. its feels like mb its some part of the world that have some bugg'ed chunks that just cant load? or i dont know. and the only way around for now for us is to just create new accaunt.
