When I was playing on my minecraft world I placed down a sign so I would know where everything was and when I walked under the sign I noticed that for some reason it wasn't properly placed on to the cobblestone walls.
I took the sign down and put it up again correctly and the same thing happened

Any non-standard client/server build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.
