The Bug
If you use the presets of superflat worlds, you will notice that some kind of ores seems not to generate correctly in the world, such as coal ore and copper ore. In 1.18, height limit and ore generation are updated, but the layers of such presets have not been tweaked to fit this change. This is not friendly to those who wants to use such presets for survival.
The bug relates to following superflat presets:
Water World
Overworld
Snowy Kingdom
What I Expect Was...
Ores in superflat worlds presets could generate like default worlds.
