Hello ..
Good night, I came here after minecraft support couldn't solve my problem, so here goes. I'm having this annoying problem that makes it impossible for me to play versions after 1.18 (previous versions like 1.17 1.16 etc run normally).
After I enter the world and randomly (this time being instantaneous and taking up to 20 minutes to happen), my video card driver (NVIDIA) stops responding and a message like this appears "The Nvidia driver has stopped working but has recovered.", then the java SDK crashes and the game is in white screen and closes with exit code -3.
After clicking on the crash box it indicates this dll "nvoglv64.dll", but I already updated the drivers and even installed windows 10 on my other hdd and it kept crashing in that version.
It could even be my video card or driver, but it doesn't make sense because it only happens in versions after 1.18. I really wanted to play 1.18 and especially the next version 1.19, but I need your help.
My budget pc
Intel core i5 2400
GTX 550 ti 1 gb
Corsair 500w
16 gb ram (I allocated 4 gb for 1.18)
Yours sincerely,
Ziegfrield.

uninstall old versions of java and uninstall minecraft (make sure to backup your world saves.) Then reinstall minecraft. Try 1.16.4, or 1.17.x to make sure minecraft runs with the fresh install on the current graphics card drivers (creating new worlds for these tests is advisable). If that works, then update minecraft to the 1.18.2 release and try that. If that fails, we can isolate the issue further.
(also, don't reinstall java during these tests. minecraft should run on the bundled java runtime)
