In the earlier snapshots, I remember skulk blocks having some tag that meant placing wool directly on them alerted nearby sensors as if the skulk patch was one organism. Unless I missed a deliberate change, this no longer applies and the tag is missing. I doubt it’s intended since this makes the ancient cities way easier and also removes a unique aspect of skulk, but it could be.
I’m pretty sure this also applied to directly placing wool against a sensor. This used to set it off, but it no longer does.

I could’ve sworn that it was also in normal snapshots but maybe not. I had mixed feelings about it personally. Oh well. Would be nice if they left the tag in the game even if it isn’t used, that way datapacks could utilize it.
Intended dangit per the changelog.
"Carpets, like Wool blocks, will now dampen the vibrations caused by their placing, breaking or dropping as items"
i also did the same bug report but the devs said that changes from the 1.19 experimental snapshot does not count as a bug
THE DEVS WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR BUG REPORT
