Hello,
I just tried the Minecraft 1.19 Version in a singleplayer World for a youtube video and I found a shipwreck on the ocean. I looted it and even got a burried treasure map. I tried to look at it, but it only looked like a piece of paper in my hand. I thought this was part of the new Update and you have to right click it to see the map, but when I right clicked it, it made a normal map of the position where I was, without any red "X". I put a picture of the so claimed "burried treasure" map in the Appendix.
(sorry for my bad englisch btw, I'm german)

Ok, so I hopped on 2 completely new worlds. I started the first with no texture pack and the second with the texture pack I used when I took the screenshot I put in the Appendix. On both worlds I could not reproduce my own issue and now I don't understand why the bug appeared when I started my first world. I may not be a pro at minecraft and the code behind it, but could it be that minecraft did not find a treasure chest it could link the map to and so it generated a normal map?

I have the same problem. I generated another creative world with the same seed and the same thing happened. :c

The same thing happened to me as well.

Playing on a seed i found on a subreddit, im experiencing this same issue. Also takes a very long time to open the chest with the map inside. This issue does not occur on another seed i also created in 1.19.3

EDIT: I've read in https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-218156 that it is due to the boats assigned treasure chest being too far away, making the chest open slowly and bug the map. I tested other shipwrecks with a closer treasure chest without problems.
I cannot reproduce this issue. This is likely a problem with your resource pack; please check if disabling it resolves the problem.
