Nether fortress center lava well falls through the bottom of the section

I was messing around with the new /place command and decided to spawn a nether fortress. (Or I guess since I was in the overworld, an overworld fortress?) I found something that was extremely weird. A random lavafall (lava waterfall) had generated below the fortress, with a nether brick below it.

This is probably very hard if not impossible to reproduce, due to it being completely random world generation.

Unfortunately, the picture of the outside of the lavafall couldn't be sent, so here is the inside.

That's part of the lava well section fortresses have, and exists for all of them. There's even a block in place to make the lavafall bigger, as part of the structure piece.

I am absolutely convinced this is by design.

Most of the lava well room did not generate, only the ceiling, the top block of the wall, and the lava well itself generated. No floor and no walls exist in the room. @Dhranios, it is definitely a glitch, because lava well rooms have floors.

Yes, except on the block at the x/z of the lava, instead, that block is further down, creating the lavafall. This has been this way since addition, and is explicitly provided/the hole made via the code, rather than filling the whole floor as 1 thing.

Here is a better view of the section pointed out by this issue:

As @unknown pointed out, this is very likely by design, making this a change request.

Can confirm in 1.20.3
