I can click play in the minecraft launcher but after the MOJANG logo, there is a black screen and the game crashes. Its done this for several months now and I don't know how to fix it! I have tried updating my graphics card, it won't update and I also don't know why. My JAVA is the most up to date one. THIS IS A NEW CRASH REPORT.

Why did you reduce the memory for Minecraft ?
JVM Flags: 1 total; -Xmx512M
OpenGL: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series GL version 2.1.8545 Release, ATI Technologies Inc.
Update your graphics driver: http://support.amd.com/de/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.13&lang=English
Why is it even trying to read the lastlogin file? It sounds like your install is broken. Have you tried deleting the .minecraft folder and reinstalling using the latest launcher? You may wish to back up any saved worlds before you try that.
Here's a good solution on how to fix this.
1. The texture pack your using might not fit with the other resources.
2. The resource pack probably can't handle your graphics card very well, and you might need to get a lower resolution resource pack. If you can lunch minecraft without a resource pack, then your graphics card can only handle 16x16 packs.
Hope it helped!

Hey, i have had this issue many times but one day i thought, why i dont update the texture to 16*16 and then i went to the jar with winrar, changed the lava_flow resolution to normal and it worked! (Note, i used the default resource pack/preinstalled one)(Note, if you are using a resourcepack this might not work for you)
Have you tried updating your JAVA?
