Latest action(s) not being saved upon Save&Quit.

What I expected to happen was...:
that my latest game session had been saved
After the point where i had pressed [Esc] And choosen "Save And Quit to menu".

expected to log on, select my current singleplayer world,
And see the two chests i had placed out, the evening before.

What actually happened was...:
I pressed "single Player" and chose my world,
And Realised there were no chests, where i knew i had placed them.
None were in the inventory, and none were to find /anywhere/ else.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place a flower or a chest down in front of you in singleplayer.
2. Save and quit the game.
3. Reopen the game.
4. Reopen your single player world
5. Realise there are no chests or flowers anywhere at all..
