If game crashes after putting items in a chest when re-opening the world the items duplicate

So I was playing on my survival world and I just put my items in my chest you know the usual stuff sticks, diamonds and what not, and my game crashed. So I reopened Minecraft and went into the world, and it had backtracked to before I put my items in the chest, So I looked in the chest and all my items had duplicated in the chest. I don't really have good evidence  to back me up because I wasn't recording but I did get a screenshot, And the crash exit code was 1. (the chest did have some stuff in it to begin with)
