[MC-256023] I some how lost my Dragon egg even though i did not break or obtain it

I thought I could return to the overworld from the end without obtaining the egg so I could get it later. I did not obtain the egg even visited the end cities and came back to see the egg was still there. Entered the portal to the overworld and came back to the end for the egg to see it missing **

Steps to Reproduce: some how i cant seem to reproduce the bug in a creative world idk what happened rip my hc world tried to get every advancement

kill the dragon
revieve the dragon
kill the dragon
leaving the end without obtaining the egg
re-enter the end

had to turn on cheats for that one now that i think about it it probably got obtained by an explosion of smth and fell into the portal where it despawned in the ow

do you allow mob griefing in your world(gamerule MobGriefing)
if you do, another possibility is that Jean (official name for the ender dragon) destroyed the egg when she went to perch on the fountain.
