I have installed Minecraft on both Windows 11 and Kubuntu on the same brand-new machine with AMD Ryzen 7950X CPU using the integrated graphics. Both seem to crash during chunk generation.
What I expected to happen was...:
I click the game in the launcher, go to single player, generate/open a world, it does the little doodle, and loads into the game.
What actually happened was...:
Somewhere during the doodle, it just crashes. Two times I managed to make it into the game, but then increasing the rendering distance crashed it once more.
Steps to Reproduce:
Open a world.
Note that it seems to be not entirely deterministic, but consistent across operating systems. The attached error log is from Windows, I can attach a Linux crash log later. Note that I don't have a crash reports folder, just a bunch of files strewn around.
Given that it seems to be coming from the JVM and persists across operating systems, I worry if this is potentially a JVM bug.
