Summary:
The dark oak hanging sign item texture uses the dark oak planks palette, despite it being made from stripped dark oak logs/wood.
Observation:
Other stripped logs have a palette that's similar to their plank forms, but the stripped cherry logs from 23w07a have a palette that's more contrast than the cherry planks. The item texture for the cherry hanging sign follow the palette to that of the stripped cherry logs.

I would like to request a review of this report.
While it is understandable that all the other hanging sign item textures would use a palette from their wood set's plank texture due to the colors being so close their stripped log/wood counterparts (to the point where fixing the other hanging signs is arguably not worth the effort), the dark oak sign is a special exception. The palettes across the hanging sign item and the block are very noticeably different and as pointed out in the report. If the cherry hanging sign needs a special texture to make it better match the block texture, it seems very strange to make an exception for specifically the dark oak variant.
This request comes primarily from some other sign item textures being left open for review and some even being fixed fairly recently.
