Particles sweep opposite direction from the brush

When you use the new archaeology brush item on blocks, it creates particles where you're looking and makes a sound. (On a right-handed player,) the particles are swept left at the end of the left-stroke, then the sound starts on the right-stroke. If the brush is meant to be sweeping those particles of dirt away, the sound should be on the left-stroke.

If you switch the hand to the opposite side (under skin settings), the particles reverse direction to still be brushing the wrong way.

How to recreate:

  1. Fresh install; default options

  2. Create a new world

  3. Give yourself a brush

  4. Brush something

A video of the bug is now attached.

The video shows the brushing particles being produced when the brush is swept in the according direction. For example, as soon as the brush is swept left while holding the brush in your main hand, the particles that are produced, are being swept to the left. Please clarify what the problem is here as I'm struggling to comprehend it. Thanks!

I suppose it's a matter of perception. In the right-handed example, the sound happens as the brush moves right, so I see the active stroke as moving right. So, the particles should move right too. I'm struggling to see the active stroke as moving left. If the active stroke is meant to be left, the timing should be different for the sound.

I got two people's input. One saw it as left, the other saw it as right. Fascinating...

The sound plays at the same time for both hands, there is no issue here. Also, it is expected that the brush particles would move in the same direction as the player's brush stroke.
