Entities going through nether portals can be placed inside other solid entities

When an entity goes through a portal it can be clipped into solid hitbox entities such as boats and shulker boxes. It will however move the entity away from solid blocks that intersect the portal for example a glass block on two sides of a two wide portal.

In order to recreate this bug:

First see normal behavior-

create a 2 wide portal on nether and overworld sides and send an entity through

See how entities behave when adding blocks-

add blocks bordering the lowest level of nether portals, then send an entity through to that side and the entity should be raised 1 block higher then before

See how entities behave when having solid hitbox entities inside the portal-

create a 2 wide portal on the overworld and nether side and put a boat with a passenger inside the portal on one side and send an entity through. You will see that the entity is put directly inside the boat instead of how it behaves from the previous test.

The expected behavior should be for the entity to be moved exactly how it is for regular blocks as it is for the solid hitbox entity.

Just for anyone who wasn't aware entities move in there portal to try to avoid colliding with things as of 1.19.3.

Hi there!

Please could you clarify exactly what the problem is because I'm struggling to comprehend the issue here. Are you talking about how large-sized entities can enter boats after traversing dimensions, or is the problem something else? Could you also please reference the exact fix you're talking about?

Feel free to use the provided template to help us better understand what the issue is:

The Bug:
Briefly describe what the problem is.

Steps to Reproduce:
List every step you'll need to take in order to recreate the said behavior. Try following the steps you construct to make sure that you can still reproduce the issue yourself.

Observed Behavior:

Expected Behavior:
Briefly describe what should happen or what you thought would happen.

Thank you Avoma I have updated the decription promptly.

It would be expected that entities would be placed inside other entities regardless of them being 'solid' when traveling through a portal. Though this part "It will however move the entity away from solid blocks that intersect the portal for example a glass block on two sides of a two wide portal" confuses me, and I cannot seem to assume what you meanted based off your attached screenshots.

I appreciate you updating the description as @unknown requested, but the steps to reproduce are currently still vague. Can you please update the steps to reproduce to follow the format which was posted earlier so that it may be clearer, easier to follow, and more specific? Currently things such as; "send an entity through" should be clarified to include what entity should be sent through, as things such as size, ability to ride boats, any more could affect results. Additionally nowhere do you state to send boats through, despite that seemingly being the focus of the issue.

A video of you reproducing the issue would also be helpful if possible.
