Sometimes when generating or re-creating a world, with generate structures disabled, structures and features still generate. Recreate always generates features on a world that previously had features, regardless of the setting. Happens regardless of seed. Worlds recreated but then with the seed field cleared still have features.
Happens after about 7-10 world creations.
Worked on (usually recreating a world, only happened twice when not recreating)
Gold blocks
Netherite blocks
White Stained Glass
Iron Block
Steps to reproduce (repeat 5-20 times)
Create a world with these settings:
Superflat (I did 52 of a single block, nothing else)
Difficulty peaceful
Structures off
Cheats on

I cannot reproduce in 1.20.4, but I don't rule out that this may have been an issue in the past. When creating a superflat world and setting "Generate structures" to false, I don't get any lava lakes. When looking at the WorldGenSettings
in level.dat
, I see that lakes
and features
are both set to 0
as expected.

Based off the first paragraph of this report, you've reported three different behaviors all with different circumstances in which they occur.
If the issue is still present for you in the latest version, please create a new ticket and provide:
The entirity of the world settings you've used
Whether or not this occurs specifically for re-creating a world multiple times over, only creating new worlds, or specifically a mixture of both
An attached world where the issue occured for you
If possible, please find an exact amount of times it would take to recreate the world. 5-20 is a vast range, and from first glance seems far too unreliable.
