Chiseled bookshelf option picking to get NBT does not work as expected

If I option click a filled chiseled bookshelf, the (+NBT) item in the inventory will appear empty. When it's place it will appear empty, but when broken it will drop the books. It should appear filled if it was picked in Creative and placed and also maybe in the inventory too.
